As the current DSA Board of Directors explores new ideas and approaches to address our organizational needs and the challenges faced by seniors, we are excited to propose amendments to the DSA Bylaws that reflect these developments. View vlog
To facilitate this process, I invite DSA members who are passionate about governance and eager to shape our organization’s future to apply for volunteer service on the DSA Bylaws Committee.
We aim to assemble a diverse group of five to seven members who can offer varied perspectives and experiences. Most of our work will be conducted online, primarily through email and Zoom meetings, ensuring accessibility for everyone.
The Bylaws Committee will have a critical role in reviewing proposed amendments submitted by the membership, discussing potential changes, and preparing the proposed bylaws for consideration. These proposals will be presented at our upcoming 18th Biennial Conference in Kansas City, Missouri, scheduled for August 1-8, 2025.
According to the tentative DSA 2025 Conference schedule, the General Meeting will take place on Thursday, August 7, 2025, from 8 AM to 12 noon, where we will discuss and vote on the proposed bylaw amendments.
Your participation in the Bylaws Committee will not only enhance our governance but also ensure that the voices and needs of our members are heard in shaping DSA’s future.
If you are interested in serving on the DSA Bylaws Committee, please send your name and contact information to me via email at hjcorson@gmail.com (Subject: DSA Bylaws) by January 15, 2025.
I encourage you to seize this opportunity to make a meaningful impact. Thank you for your consideration. I look forward to hearing from you!
